Sergio Nasarre Aznar
He is Full Professor of Civil Law at the Rovira i Virgili University, Director of his UNESCO Chair of housing. He is a PhD in Law and a Master's degree in Real Estate Economics from the University of Cambridge. Since 2008 he is Academic Correspondent of the Royal Academy of Jurisprudence and Legislation of Spain. He has been awarded the ICREA Prize for excellence in research 2016-2020. He is a consultant of the European Commission, Parliament of Catalonia, Amnesty International, FAO and the Association of German Pfandbrief Banks. He has been the Deputy Magistrate at the Provincial Court of Tarragona for 15 years (2004-2018).
He is the author of four books on the mortgage market and the right to damages, he has coordinated seven more and is the author of more than 90 scientific papers published in Spain, Germany, the United States, Switzerland, Holland, Portugal, Great Britain, Ireland and Poland, while it has taught more than 160 conferences in 15 European countries, Asia and the United States. He has been visiting professor at the Universities of Barcelona, Bremen, Malta, Valladolid, National University of Ireland, Cambridge, Technion (Isr.) And Duke (USA).
He is the principal researcher of ten competitive research projects. Member of the TENLAW project (7th EU PM), member of the core team of the eviction and senselarism project (European Commission) and member on the project of international property transactions (European Parliament). He has participated in various legislative commissions for Catalonia (fiduciary assets, protection of mortgage debtors, intermediate holdings and rents) and at the level of the whole of Spain (reform of the Law of Urban Leases and the State Housing Plan 2012-2016). He has obtained several prizes and his fields of investigation are mainly property and real estate right, mortgage market, housing, European private law, trust and right of damages.
